Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

OK, Clan Scott Society "will" have a tent at GMHG July 9-12.
Every thing is coming together, application has been sent and the check is "in the mail".
We hope to have a lot of past, present and future Clan Scott Society members stop by to visit with us.
We will be having only one tent this year, but next year we will have more time for preparation in the planning and hopefully will go back to the two tents.
We are, also, looking forward to seeing friends from other Clans we haven't seen for a while.
No matter what "Mother Nature" give us for weather those days, it will be great time for all.
(And we will all leave hearing bagpipes in our heads for the following 2 or 3 days.)

Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games is the next festival in NC. At this time I do not know if I will be able to get a tent space for Clan Scott, due to how soon it is. I will need to call Monday to see if there is still a tent available. The GMHG Director was out of the office today when I called, he will be back Monday.
I had found a piece of Ancient red Scott tartan on clearance earlier this week and it arrived today. I plan on using it as part of my backdrop for the banner I already have. The white background on my banner disappears on the white tent side if I have it rolled down.

NC Commissioner Appointment

Well, Hello NC!
Chieftian KD called this evening, amidst "Devine Miss M" chaos, and asked if I would be interested in being NC Commissioner. "Sure". Chieftian KD continues to tell me why I would be "perfect" for the position. I am agreeing and telling him, "Yes, I have been debating for sometime as to emailing my interest, before NC is appointed to someone." Ok, now we are on the same page.
I am feeling relief, I have finally done what I have been wanting to commit to for several months.
My founding Grandfather (in this country) X6 - John Scott, Sr; came in through Cape Fear and I feel like I am continuing a connection with John and NC. I feel like I have came "home" moving to NC, last year.
The most important part is: I am near DYS and the "Devine Miss M".
I am looking forward to connecting with distant family members and connecting with Clan Scott past & present members in NC.
